Job Description

Electro Static Technology is hiring a Quality Engineer to support our Electric Vehicle customers. The EV Quality Engineer will work closely with our automotive customers, sales, manufacturing, and engineering teams to proactively drive continuous improvement efforts to our Quality Management System. Key responsibilities include driving PPAP processes, preventive and corrective actions, implementing and adhering to Quality Management System Standards, ensuring timely responses, and customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Independently lead, coordinate, and assure the successful submission of PPAPs and related quality documentation to customers on time.
  2. Support driving Corrective Actions to conclusion including completion of internal documentation and customer related 8D reports.
  3. Ability to drive implementation of SPC at facility. Understanding of Cpk/Ppk required.
  4. Participate in the Advanced Product Quality Planning activities to qualify new measurement systems necessary to support new projects using appropriate Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) techniques.
  5. Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and Toolroom to gather data/documentation for customers and to resolve customer complaints and concerns using appropriate root cause analysis methodologies (5 Why, Ishikawa diagrams, etc.).
  6. Support EST’s readiness of internal and external audits including preparation and follow-up.
  7. Advocating as the "voice of the customer" seeking the highest quality expectations from the organization. 
  8. Provide engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques, communicate and reinforce EST’s commitment to quality improvement efforts, as needed.
  9. Work with Manufacturing/Process engineer on process stability, capability studies, and towards reducing and controlling manufacturing process defects (scrap, nonconforming material and customer & supplier complaints) by following corrective action process steps.
  10. Coordinate pre-launch run at rate data collection.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned or directed.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering. (Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial)
  • CQE not required but preferred
  • Exceptional mechanical aptitude (i.e. intuitive understanding of mechanical processes)
  • Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with influence and develop effective relationships with internal and external team members.
  • Experience in the automotive quality preferred (IATF, APQP & PPAP)
  • High level of comfort when working in ambiguous situations, with the ability to gather pieces of information and summarize them into meaningful statements and/or instructions.
  • Project management experience
  • Basic understanding of PFMEA
