The award-winning landscape architecture and urban design team at Spackman Mossop Michaels is growing with the addition of their first Sustainable Site Civil Engineer team member. The ideal candidate for this role is an energetic, creative and collaborative civil engineer with experience delivering complex urban projects and a strong understanding of sustainable design principles and their application in civil engineering. The position will work with a multidisciplinary team of landscape architects, designers, and sustainability experts on projects that prioritize environmental stewardship and sustainable practices and will have the opportunity to define and develop a design-focused engineering team within the firm.
Key Responsibilities
You will play a crucial role in transforming urban landscapes into ecologically and aesthetically pleasing environments by using your experience in civil site design to design stormwater management systems, paving design, and green infrastructure solutions to minimize environmental impact and optimize water usage.
Our Sustainable Site Civil Engineer will:
Serve as the lead engineering subject matter expert on our team
Conduct site assessments and analyze existing conditions to identify opportunities for sustainable development and innovative design solutions
Carry projects from technical design through construction administration
Collaborate with project teams to incorporate innovative solutions and create comprehensive construction documents, including engineering calculations, cost estimates, site plans, grading plans, drainage plans, utility plans and technical specifications
Utilize sustainable construction materials and techniques, ensuring adherence to industry standards and environmental regulations
Engage in ongoing research and professional networking to stay updated on the latest sustainable practices and technologies
Integrate with the design and engineering community to identify potential clients/opportunities as we expand our firm’s expertise in the green infrastructure space
Desired Qualifications
Passion for sustainability and a commitment to incorporating environmentally responsible practices into every project
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from ABET-accredited university
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Louisiana (or have the ability to become licensed)
5-10 years of professional civil engineering experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software.
Strong project management skills with the ability to perform work on a variety of project types and be a proficient multi-tasker to juggle multiple timelines simultaneously.
Experience managing and mentoring staff designers, developing details, and redlining drawings
Optional: Ability to perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, environmental engineering background

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Civil Highway Professional Engineer to be based in the Greater Philadelphia Area. AECOM has offices in Philadelphia and Conshohocken, PA as well as Newark, DE.
In this role, you will provide technical leadership to teams working on medium to large scale transportation projects in the Greater Pennsylvania Area. A Civil Highway Professional Engineer will typically delegate tasks to less experienced engineers while providing technical guidance and support to those individuals. As a Senior Water Resources Engineer, you will act as a technical lead of water resources projects related to but not limited to any of the following: green stormwater infrastructure projects, municipal water resources projects; or analysis and design of stormwater or roadway drainage systems.
